The 9mm ammo box open, with 100 rounds standing bullet down in two blocks of 50.

It's the first piece of the Range System. It holds 100 loose rounds bullet down, in two blocks of 50. Two snap latches close it, a full-width printed hinge opens it, and it stands flat on any of its four sides. No screws, no magnets, no metal pins: you print five parts and snap them together.

Built to live in a range bag

Thick walls. 5 mm sides and floor, 4 mm on top.

Stands on any side. The hinge and latches sit inside the outline, so the box stays upright on the bench or the shelf.

Grips where your hands go. Angled ribs on both sides of the lid.

Our logo on the floor. Pull the insert and you'll find the AX logo and aimonx.app engraved in the base.

An insert that holds every round

Rounds drop into hex cells, bullet down. Each cell narrows into a cone that holds the round by the bullet, so the tip doesn't touch anything. About 9 mm of case sticks out, enough to grab each round with your fingers. A solid divider splits the 100 into two blocks of 50, which makes counting easy. The insert snaps into the base and stays put when you shake the box.

Latches that click

Two latches sit recessed in the front, so they don't snag in the bag or pop open by accident. Each one pivots on a pin, clamps the lid to the base, and snaps shut with a clear click.

One of the two latches, off the box and held in hand.

The hinge runs the full width of the box, snaps together with no pins to insert, and lets the lid open all the way.

Lock it if you want

A 4 mm hole in the front corner goes through the lid and the base. A cable padlock with a 3 mm cable, like the ones made for zippers, keeps the box shut.

Two lids, same box

Engraved: one color, with the bullet, 9×19 and the AX logo engraved in the lid.

Color: the bullet in orange, 9×19 and the AX logo in white, inlaid flush in the lid. Needs an AMS or another multi-material setup.

Both lids fit the same base.

The five printed parts laid out: lid, base, insert and two latches.

Printing

  • Material: PETG for every part. We print with Bambu PETG Basic.
  • Layer height: 0.20 mm, first layer included (Bambu Studio 0.20 mm High Quality). The engraving is exactly three layers deep: change the layer height and the lid graphics won't come out right.
  • Plate: Textured PEI.
  • X-Y hole and contour compensation: 0. The hinge, latches and insert are designed with exact clearances.
  • Supports: base only. Everything else prints without them.
  • Orientation: the files come already oriented.

Putting it together

  1. Press the insert into the base until it locks in.
  2. Open the lid all the way, line up the hinge and push it onto the base until it clicks.
  3. Close the lid. Hold a latch open, drop its pin into the channels from the top and swing it down. Same for the other one.
  4. Snap both latches shut. Done.

To open it, pull the bottom tab of each latch out and up. To clean the insert, turn the empty box upside down and tap the rim.

Good to know

  • Load rounds bullet down. Bullet up, they won't be held.
  • Different bullet shapes sit at slightly different heights. The lid clears the longest 9×19 and 9×21 rounds C.I.P. allows.
  • It's an original design, drawn from scratch. Not a remix.
  • Free for personal use. Please don't sell prints or post remixes. Want to make and sell them? Email us and ask.
